I was so excited that I took Hannah's DVD and my portable DVD player to Grace's Chinese Dance Class and showed all the moms!!   (they were quite impressed and you may be hearing from some of them)Anyway, thank you so much.   I am VERY HAPPY with both of them, they are wonderful. Ann, your work is such a wonderful gift to our entire adoptive family, but especially for our Phoenix Li! She asked to see it a second time, and then there was this lonnnnnnnnnng sigh----she kept saying I love you Mommy quietly and hugged me---You see this video put everything together for her---in a visual manner---- she now has the "whole picture" in a brief but encompassing format that she can understand.

My husband and I marvel at your ability to make stills seem to have movement! You also time the photos to the lyrics so approrpriately yet subtly!

Your talent and craft is very much appreciated! Phoenix had two years of her life in Dongguan Orphanage---and she so needed to have those memories recorded, too. You did that so gently and so respectfully! Her "finding ad" and her abandonment site were positioned so beautifully in the "storyboard" frame of her adoption.-- Barbara, Florida

We just had a video made of our adoption trip, comprised of photos taken during that time, and it is set to music we chose.   It was created by Ann Keisling and her husband, who own Pergamon Design. The Keislings have two daughters from China.   Our video is AWESOME!!! It was great to get all those pictures organized into a sweet story for all our relatives to see. They can create videos using your own video tapes from your trip, too.   They do beautiful work, and their service is efficient and excellent.   It was a pleasure working with Ann, who answered all my emails with all my questions very quickly. : ) —Therese, Japan

We hosted a party and some of our friends with children from China wanted to see the video when we told them about it. We had to have two viewings because the TV room couldn't hold everyone. Everyone, including non-adoptive parents, were moved by it. Even our 23 month old daughter teared up at the scene where the guide hands her to me. She might not understand everything, but she was definitely moved by it. We now have to watch "Katie in China" at least twice a day and tell "her story" along with it. She makes me sit down with her on her stool in the kitchen while watching the kitchen tv as I try to prepare dinner. I have to reinact holding, rocking, and patting her on the back as the scenes appear on the video. My husband said the video is the best gift I could have ever given him. — Janet, Texas

As I've not started either of the girls lifebooks, I'm very pleased that I farmed out the digital videotapes and some still photographs of both of our China adoption trips to professional documentary filmmakers in Oregon who just happen to be adoptive parents. After consulting Ann and Mark's website, my husband and I embarked on choosing what songs we would want as background for each daughter's story. I rounded up every unedited mini-DV taken from each trip, I culled a few favorite still photos and sent the box off to Pergamon Film & Video. After a few short weeks, we received our order of DVDs and videos, as well as the original tapes, photos and CDs. Without much direction from us, they listened to our requested songs, and then skillfully matched footage and scanned stills of some of our favorite memories. Incredible emotons welled up as we held our girls in our arms and watched the first hours and days of getting acquainted. What spendid gifts these DVDs are for us and our daughters! — Gloria, California

I was speechless and teary eyed watching Ruby's video for the first time. A dozen viewings later it still evokes the same reaction. I love it and will treasure it always. Your skills in weaving together images from a diverse journey into something magic amazed me. I'm very glad I decided to go with the 3-song video, having more time to show the images of China in telling Ruby's story is great. I don't know how you did it, but you managed to include most of my favorite images in the video! From Bejing to the Wall to Changsha's rice paddies to Guangzhou, they are all there. We put on the video with two of Kevin's sisters in attendance along with Logan and Morgan. There was not a dry eye in the room. You couldn't have possibly done a better job. Ann, it is wonderful. You did an excellent job and knew exactly how to capture the emotion of the trip in the video. You did a superb job in choosing the right picture to go with the song we selected. While watching Pema's video I felt as if I was there in China with Mike. I had felt as if I missed a big part of Pema's adoption story because I had to remain home with our other girls. After watching the video it gave me a new perspective and sense of peace about her adoption journey. Seeing Pema placed in her daddy's arms is priceless. You have done it again. If the level of tears and tissues is any indication of the quality and beauty of this video then you have out done yourself. We cry while watching Quinn's video, she was our first and will always be special in that way. We laugh and smile when we watch Margaret's video, she was such a tough character to get to know and her video captures that and more. We received our DVD and VHS tapes back yesterday and all I can say is WOW! We now have a very touching, compact approximately 8 and 1/2 minute movie of RaeAnne's adoption story. The first time I watched it, I was crying so hard that I could not see much of it. We chose two songs and they did the rest.

RaeAnne absolutely loves it! RaeAnne's movie is something that she will enjoy for the rest of her life, so I think it is very much worth the price. She has already learned part of the words to the songs and she was singing and dancing to "her" movie tonight as her brother watched it. — Christie, Kansas

The video is magnificent. Matt & I were reduced to puddles of happy tears as we watched. It's interesting--we had looked at the photos quite a few times since coming home from China, but there was something so moving and powerful about the video. We can hardly wait to show it to our families at Christmastime!

Today my friend Laurel (who lives in Portland and returned from China with her daughter last month) and I (down here in Eugene) rendezvoused with our girls at the mall in Salem. I had brought the video with me, so we went into the electronics dept. at Sears and asked the salesman if we could borrow one of his TVs and a VCR for 5 minutes. He agreed to it, so we all watched the video on the showroom floor. Maya sat transfixed as she pointed to the screen, while Laurel's daughter swayed to the music. Thank you for all the care, creativity, and skill that you put into making it. Your video is--and will continue to be--one of our most treasured possessions. — Susan, Oregon

Pergamon Film & Video (a professional company owned by two extremely talented China adoptive parents), just finished editing my original mess of video tape from my China adoption trip from two years ago. It is a visually beautiful, poignant piece of film work that manages to catch the highlights of our 2 week trip in under 10 minutes! Family and friends will actually WANT to watch this DVD/VHS (unlike my other, hour-long video that I managed to edit my many hours of tape down to from our first adoption trip in 1996).

Ann Keisling and Mark Smith were marvelous to work with and very accommodating of my requests. Their suggestions made the final product even better, and their complete professionalism was very reassuring.

The nicest part is when I watched it today with Hanna she sat snuggled in my lap and gave me a running commentary- "That's my country!" "Was that my babysitter?" "I liked sleeping on you!" "Look at me play with that sock!" This video/DVD is already helping to fill in her "how did I get from there to here?" gap. — Jean, Michigan

We just received a video of our daughter's adoption from Ann Keisling (http://www.pergamondesign.com) and all we can say is "ohmygoshisthisnottheabsolutebest!" Ann and her husband were able to take almost two messy hours of video (she didn't include the 15 minutes of the inside of our camera bag, darn),numerous photos,and special music and made the most incredible movie. Jilaina calls it her "China Jilaina" video and watches it at least several times a day, and no matter how many times I see it, its always wonderful. — Karin and Jay, Florida
